Advocates Building Lasting Equality (ABLE) NH

ABLE NH is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to working toward equality & advocating for the civil and human rights of individuals and families with disabilities.

​

Their mission is to advocate for the human and civil rights of all children and adults with disabilities and promotes full participation by improving systems of supports, connecting families, inspiring communities, and influencing public policy.

NH Council on Developmental Disabilities

The NH Council on Developmental Disabilities is a federally funded agency that supports public policies and initiatives that remove barriers and promote opportunities in all areas of life. The Council is independent of the agencies that provide services to people with disabilities. The Council develops a State Plan every five years to establish specific goals, objectives and strategies to address the most important issues affecting people with developmental disabilities in New Hampshire. The Council carries out its mission through education, advocacy and the funding of innovative projects that make a difference in people's lives.

The Disability Rights Center - NH (DRC)

The Disability Rights Center - NH (DRC) is New Hampshire’s designated Protection and Advocacy agency. They are authorized by federal statute “to pursue legal, administrative and other appropriate remedies” on behalf of individuals with disabilities. DRC is a statewide organization independent from state government or service providers.

​

DRC provides information, referrals, advice, legal representation, and advocacy to individuals with disabilities on a wide range of disability-related problems including special education, accessibility, employment discrimination, home and community-based services and Medicaid. They also work on systemic issues via litigation, investigations, monitoring and other policy change efforts, which are all focused on improving the lives of people with disabilities across New Hampshire.

People First of New Hampshire (PFNH)

PFNH’s mission is to be multicultural champions of equality who advocate for people with disabilities to achieve their full potential. They believe in a more accessible future, where disability is just another form of diversity.

New Hampshire Family Voices

NH Family Voices is a national network of families and friends of children and youth with special health care needs/disabilities. NH Family Voices, NH’s state affiliate, provides free, confidential services to families and professionals caring for children with chronic conditions and/or disabilities. They assist with navigating systems of care, resources and supports to help families feel confident when making choices for their children. NH Family Voices also coordinates a youth advisory committee for health care transition.

Self-Advocacy Leadership Team (SALT)

SALT began as a task force of the New Hampshire Council on Developmental Disabilities, and has since taken on a life of its own. The group is committed to ensuring that disability does not prevent them or anyone else from living life to the fullest. The Self-Advocacy Leadership Team (SALT) serves as consultants for the New Hampshire Council on Developmental Disabilities and other Advocacy Organizations. The group's members are talented citizens who want to effect positive change in New Hampshire. They are committed to supporting people who experience disabilities by tackling big issues that keep us from living quality lives in the community.
